Mankato Clinic Foundation Announces Grant Recipients During Quarter Three

The Mankato Clinic Foundation has approved $14,162 in grants for community organizations in quarter three, supporting health and wellness in the region. Recipients include the Friends of Learning, the Minnesota State University Foundation, Helping Paws of Minnesota, the City of Saint Peter, and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Elementary School. The Mankato Clinic physicians provide the majority of the foundation funding to support organizations that aim to improve the health and wellness of the communities they serve, having provided over $1.8 million in scholarships and grants in the last ten years.

Star Tribune Names Mankato Clinic a 2022 Top 200 Workplace

The Mankato Clinic has been recognized as one of the Top 200 Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune, ranking 12th in the large company category. The list recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health, and satisfaction, with rankings based on survey information collected by Energage, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention.

Two Students Receive J. Scott Sanders M.D. Memorial Scholarships

The Mankato Clinic Foundation has awarded the J. Scott Sanders, M.D. Memorial Scholarships to Parker Beavens, a Mankato East High School graduate, and MacKenzie Pettis, a Saint Peter High School graduate, with each student receiving a $2,000 scholarship. The scholarship, named in honor of the late J. Scott Sanders, M.D., Mankato Clinic’s physician, pulmonologist, and critical care specialist, recognizes the role of character in young adults’ lives. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be high school seniors and live within the Mankato Clinic service area, which includes Mankato, North Mankato, St. Peter, Lake Crystal, Mapleton, and nearby communities.

Recipients include Bridges Community School, Camp Sweet Life Adventures, Lutheran Social Services Foster Care, MN Brain Injury Force, New Foundations St. Peter, and WellShare International. Mankato Clinic Receives Bench Made of Recycled Plastics for Collection Efforts

Mankato Clinic has been awarded a Trex bench made of recycled plastics by Mankato Area Zero Waste for collecting and recycling over 600 pounds of soft plastics in the last year. By participating in Mankato Area Zero Waste and Trex recycling program, Mankato Clinic placed three bins at their locations for employees to collect plastic film such as pallet wraps, plastic bags and other soft plastics. Mankato Clinic volunteers then deliver the bags to local grocers who sell them to Trex to make decking, benches and outdoor furniture.
