Mankato Clinic, Javara now offering new care options through established clinical research partnership
MANKATO (October 23, 2024) – In 2022, Mankato Clinic and Javara, an Integrated Research Organization (IRO), launched a partnership to bring clinical trials as a care option to Greater Mankato and south-central Minnesota.
“We are proud to partner with Javara to bring new care options to our patients and our region,” said Dr. Katie Thompson, Mankato Clinic Family Medicine and Javara Principal Investigator.
Since joining forces with Javara, Mankato Clinic patients have benefited from participation in clinical trials for conditions including asthma and depression. Now, additional clinical trials are available.
Dr. Thompson is leading an upcoming study on RSV treatment and beginning in 2025, a COVID-19 oral vaccine study.
Javara clinical trial navigators work alongside Mankato Clinic physicians to deliver clinical trials to patients at the point of care and ensure participation is part of their holistic care experience.
“Together, we are bridging the gap between clinical research and clinical care,” Dr. Thompson said. “Our patients, as well as all who live in our region, now have access to new care options and potential treatments through their trusted healthcare provider or other local physicians.”
Dr. Thompson will be presenting “Conducting Clinical Research in the Community Setting” with Javara Site Operations Manager Cari Dock, at 11 a.m., November 8, at VINE Adult Community Center, 421 East Hickory Street, Mankato.
