Community-Based Health Education Classes for Adults
The Mankato Clinic is collaborating with VINE and Catholic Charities to provide the following evidence-based health education classes to our region.
Living Well With Chronic Conditions
A six session workshop that meets once a week for six weeks. It is designed to help anyone 18 years or older with long-term health conditions, such as Arthritis, diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and others who feel limited in their day to day activities, tired, alone, or fearful, and is looking for better ways to manage symptoms.
Living Well with Chronic Pain Self-Management
A six week group workshop designed to help individuals living with chronic pain better manage their symptoms and improve their daily lives. Participants set goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve their health. Workshop sessions are interactive and focus on peer support.
Living Well With Diabetes
A class designed to help adults gain skills to manage or prevent type 2 diabetes. Participants meet for two hours, once a week for six weeks. Living Well with Diabetes does not replace existing treatments, but rather complements care you already receive from your healthcare provider.
Diabetes Prevention Program
A lifestyle change program designed for people with pre-diabetes. The curriculum teaches participants to make lasting lifestyle changes, like eating healthier, adding physical activity into their daily routine, and improving coping skills.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Gives you the skills to take care of yourself while caring for someone else. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver. Six class sessions held once a week are led by experienced class leaders. The focus of this class is for class for caregivers of adults with chronic conditions.
