Mankato Clinic Welcomes Abel Alfonso, DO

The Mankato Clinic is happy to announce Abel Alfonso, DO as the first provider of our Endocrinology Department. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine, East Lansing, MI. He completed his internal medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX, and his endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC. Dr. Alfonso’s clinical interests include diabetes, thyroid disorders, parathyroid disorders/hypercalcemia, male hypogonadism (low testosterone), osteoporosis and adrenal and pituitary gland disorders. He is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinic Endocrinologists and is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. In his spare time, Dr. Alfonso enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and traveling.
