Mankato Clinic to Host Free Picky Eater Group Online
Monday, October 09, 2017
Calling all parents! Do you find yourself dealing with a child that refuses to eat foods that they previously devoured, or are simply eating less of the food than before? Have you become a short-order cook in the kitchen? If this sounds like a daily routine for your family, join us on Facebook for a free, closed group discussion facilitated by Mankato Clinic pediatricians Katie Smentek, MD, Lon Knudson, MD, Darla Wrage, MD, Ben Dexter, MD and Registered Dietician Erin Gonzalez.
The Picky Eater Project is open to the public and will begin on Facebook on Sunday, Oct. 1 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16. This six-week project will provide parents and caregivers guidance on children with picky eating habits. Each week, facilitators will focus on a chapter in the book “The Picky Eater Project” by Natalie Digate Muth and Sally Sampson. Participants are encouraged to use the book as a guide throughout the Picky Eater Project. Books can be borrowed at libraries in Mankato, North Mankato, St. Peter, Mapleton and Lake Crystal or purchased from Barnes and Noble at River Hills Mall or can easily be found online.
By joining Mankato Clinic’s Picky Eater Project on Facebook, participants will be able to connect with other parents, take a tour of Hilltop HyVee with their children, and will have the opportunity to interact with Erin Gonzalez and Drs. Smentek, Knudson, Wrage and Dexter while learning strategies to help their children become more adventurous eaters.
Join us for this life-changing opportunity on Facebook by searching Mankato Clinic’s Picky Eater Project and requesting to join the group. Our hope is that once the project complete, your children of all ages will be making picky eating a thing of the past!
